Are you putting God in a box?

They spoke against God;
they said, "Can God really spread a table in the wilderness?
True, he struck the rock, and water gushed out,
streams flowed abundantly, but can he also give us bread?
Can he supply meat for his people?"
- Psalm 78:19-20 (NIV)

They even spoke against God himself, saying,
"God can't give us food in the wilderness.
Yes, he can strike a rock so water gushes out,
but he can't give his people bread and meat."
- Psalm 78:19 (NLT)

It's easy to read this Scripture and think WHAT?? The Israelites have seen God do many signs and wonders to deliver them from Egypt, part the Red Sea, guide them with the cloud by day and with light from the fire by night, split open rocks in the wilderness to give them water as abundant as the seas, and fed them with the bread of angels (see Psalm 78). Even after seeing all this, they still limit God? They still doubt His ability? They still doubt that He cares for them? Seriously?? The Israelites trust in God was limited. As many do today, they put God in a box saying, "This is what God can do; this is what He cannot do".

How often do we do this? Not necessarily with our words but with our attitudes and actions. When we take a step back, it's easy to see that we are not so different from the Israelites today. In Philippians 4:19, God promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus. Not only is it a promise in His Word (which should be reason enough to believe it!), but you have seen Him supply your needs 1,000 times (okay, if you're honest, more times than you could count), yet you still worry that somehow this time will be different-- that somehow God will fail you, that He won't come through this time. You believe God has saved you but you don't believe He will heal you. You believe God has redeemed you from eternal damnation, but you don't believe He desires for you to have a more abundantly life, that His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you. God has healed your body, but you struggle to believe He will heal your broken heart. You believe God created you, but you don't believe you're beautiful. God has brought you through things time and time again, but you just don't believe He will do it one more time. You believe God is bigger than your problems but you insist on carrying the burden yourself-- burdens you were never meant to carry.

Why do we limit God? Why do we tend to have this "God can do this, not that" mindset? We have to cast down imaginations and every lofty thing that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and take captive EVERY THOUGHT and make it obedient to Christ (See 2 Cor. 5:10).

We learn from Mark 11:24 that we have to believe BEFORE we receive. 1) Ask. 2) Believe. 3) Receive. We have to believe not just that He can, but that He will. We have to build our faith by hearing the Word (See Romans 10:17). Stay in His Word daily. Listen to Bible-based preaching often! Build yourself up in the Word to keep the faith!

So as you face your current "impossible" situation, take time to reflect on what He's already done for you. Won't He do it again? His mercies? New every morning.

Trust God. Stop limiting what God wants to do in your life with your lack of belief.. Let God out of the box in your mind and see the power He will unleash in your life.

Scripture Reading:

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 4:19 (NKJV)

...for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?
- Hebrews 13:5-6 (AMP)

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
- 1 Peter 2:24 (NIV)

Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy].
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
- Isaiah 53:4-5 (AMP)

This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.”
- Matthew 8:17 (NLT)

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
- John 10:10 (KJV)

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
- Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
- Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
- Psalm 147:3 (NIV)

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
- Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

Blessed be the Lord, Who bears our burdens and carries us day by day, even the God Who is our salvation! Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
- Psalm 68:19 (AMP)

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
- Matthew 11:29-30 (NIV)

Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).
- Psalm 55:22 (AMP)

Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]
- John 14:27 (AMP)

---
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
- 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV)

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
- 2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV)

---

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
- Mark 11:24 (NIV)

THE TRUTH ABOUT PAUL'S THORN

Many people use “Paul’s Thorn” to use against healing. Let's see what the Bible says about it:

2 Corinthians 12:7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.

*The Bible tells us exactly what Paul’s Thorn was. It was a messenger of Satan, not a sickness.

In “Christ the Healer” by F. F. Bosworth, he states, “The expression thorn in the flesh is not once used in either the Old or New Testament EXCEPT as an illustration. The figure of the thorn in the flesh is not in one single instance used in the Bible as a figure of sickness. Every time, the expression was used in the entire Bible, it is specifically stated what the thorn in the flesh was.” Bosworth continues by pointing this out in Numbers 33:55 and Joshua 23:13, as well.

Numbers 33:55 (KJV) But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which yet let remain of them shall be PRICKS IN YOUR EYES, and THORNS IN YOUR sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

Bosworth points out: “The pricks in the eyes” and “thorns in the sides” of the Israelites were inhabitants of Canaan, not eye trouble or sickness. God was only using an illustration. Again, in Joshua 23:13, the Lord says of the Canaanites, “they shall be… scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes”. Again, the scourges in their eyes and thorns in their sides are the Canaanites.

Looking back at 2nd Corinthians 12:7, Paul specifically says that his thorn was a messenger of Satan, sent to buffet him. Bosworth concludes this portion of his sermon on Paul’s Thorn by saying, “Since Paul specifically says that his thornwas a messenger of Satan, sent to buffet him and make trouble for him wherever he went, why should we say it was something else?”

For the rest of Bosworth's sermon, read the 14th chapter of Christ the Healer (this book can be found on amazon). Jesus healed me when I read this book. For more on healing, check out the follow videos on my YouTube: MY HEALING TESTIMONY, JESUS HEALS, & JESUS STILL HEALS EVERY SICKNESS & EVERY DISEASE. My YouTube channel is "Rachel Marie Ministries", or click the above tab "My YouTube". Most importantly, if you need healing, read through the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John in the Bible). All through the Gospels, Jesus was moved with compassion for the sick & He healed them. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. God revealed His will through the life of Jesus, so the best way to find out God's will is to read what Jesus did in His life on earth! He made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposes in Christ (Ephesians 1:9).

HOW SELFISH WOULD I BE TO KEEP HIM TO MYSELF?

But if I say, "I will not mention His Word or anymore in His Name," His Word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed; I cannot.
- Jeremiah 20:9

Oh, many times I feel like Jeremiah, with a fire shut up in my bones!!! I cannot hold in my love and passion  for the LORD, even if I tried. And WHY WOULD I WANT TO? Salvation comes from His Name alone: Jesus Christ. Only through HIM can all men be saved (who are willing to accept Jesus & live their lives for Him). Only through HIM can we get to Heaven. Oh, my God, with tears in my eyes, I declare with David, "I DELIGHT TO DO YOUR WILL, O MY GOD (Psalm 40:8)!!!

JESUS is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. No one comes to the Father EXCEPT through Him (John 14:6).

This verse is not plural. IT DOES NOT SAY that Jesus is one of the ways, one of the truths, one way of life... It does not say that He is one of the ways to Heaven, contrary to popular belief. The Word of God says Jesus is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH JESUS CHRIST. SCRIPTURE SAYS JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY. HE IS THE TRUTH. THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN IS THROUGH A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST. Not through religious traditions, but through having an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

********* Note: If you do not have a relationship with Jesus and would like to, it is so simple. Do not be ashamed to want this. It is the only way to Heaven. Right now, wherever you are, you can just say a simple prayer, like this: "Jesus Christ is Lord. God, I believe you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth to die for my sins & heal me from all sickness & disease & that you raised Jesus from the dead. Please forgive me for my sins. I dedicate my life to you."

That prayer of salvation is only the beginning. Now, get to know God. You can purchase a Bible or begin reading daily in the Bible app (it's free! or at Bible.com). A good place to start is in the Gospel of John (in the New Testament, the 4th book). You can also get involved in a good Bible-based church to learn more. Begin to learn what God asks of you and more about who He is through reading His Word & doing what it says. **************

I couldn't continue with this post without telling you all how to be saved.

WHY WOULD I WANT TO KEEP GOD & HIS WORD TO MYSELF? Through Christ, we can make it into the Beautiful Kingdom of Heaven & forever soak in the presence and majesty of God. In Heaven, there will be no more death, or sorrow, or crying, or pain (Revelation 21:4).. But in Hell, (if you die without a relationship with Jesus), there will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth (Luke 13:28) in a lake of fire forever. Through Jesus, we can be healed from every sickness and every disease (Matt. 4:23, Hebrews 13:8, Malachi 3:6). Through Jesus, the lame can walk, the blind can see, the deaf can hear, the mute can speak. Through Jesus, the captives are set free. Jesus sets us free from all sin, all sickness, all forms of evil bondage!!!! GLORY BE TO GOD!

Oh, God, I would be selfish to keep the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to myself. Oh, I would be selfish to keep the Name above all names locked up deep inside my heart: never to tell of your salvation, healing, forgiveness, mercy, grace, comfort, and love. Never to release the electrifying power that raised Jesus Christ from the grave. Oh, how selfish I would have to be to keep the commands of God to myself. How selfish would I be to not speak in the Name of Jesus & release the salvation, healing, and freedom that comes from Him?? OH, THERE IS POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS TO BREAK EVERY CHAIN!!!!!!!!! How selfish would I be to remain silent & allow people to go to hell because I refused to speak about Jesus? How selfish would I be to not tell how Jesus saved me, changed me, and healed me & let others perish eternally, to let them be sick & in pain & suffer through this life, to rob them of the comfort that comes from the Holy Spirit? Oh, how selfish would I be not to share my testimony of how Jesus healed me when doctors couldn't? & tell of how Jesus is willing and eager to do the same for others, as well as save them & give the gift of the Holy Spirit & eternal life because GOD DOES NOT SHOW FAVORITISM (Acts 10:34). What He has done for me, He is able and willing to do for you!

Burning with a Passion to see people Saved, Changed, and Healed through my Savior,

Rachel Marie

JESUS UNDERSTANDS

He was despised and rejected ---
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our  backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.
- Isaiah 53:3 (NLT)

Maybe this sounds like the story of your life or at least the story of your current situation. Think no one understands? Think no one cares?

Jesus Christ: the Son of God can relate. This verse strikes me in resemblance to the "loner" type. The lonesome person no one wants to be seen with. Imagine: the only man who ever walked the earth and never sinned: despised, rejected. In other words, Jesus was hated; the social outcast, you might say. All He ever did was save, forgive, heal, and deliver people, yet He was rejected by mankind.

What if you lived during the time the Son of God walked the earth? Maybe you would have avoided him like the plague. Maybe would have felt bad for Him and befriended Him, but only in secret: never to tell your family and friends. Maybe you would have admired Him from a distance, never bold enough to follow Him. Or maybe ---- just maybe you would have dared to believe, to take up your cross and follow Him. Maybe you would have dared to leave behind everything you knew (or thought you knew!) to take this journey with the Son of the Living God; to soak in the beautiful benefits of His presence (peace, joy unspeakable, comfort, healing, freedom); to sit at His feet and drink from the Living Water (the well that never runs dry!); to wash His feet with your tears & wipe them with your hair in repentance for your sins.

I posed this question at first, in a "what if" scenario, to allow your mind to ponder, in wonder what you would have done if you had the blessed opportunity to meet Jesus in person during His earthly life. However, this is very applicable for you now, today. Do you refuse to serve Jesus and give Him your whole heart in fear of what others might think? Or perhaps because you aren't willing to let Jesus free you from your bondage to sin? Or do you serve Jesus quietly  -- fearing what your family and friends might think? Or do you from time to time ponder the possibility of following Jesus, never bold enough to commit? Or do you live boldly for the Lord Jesus, beaming as a shining, brilliant light for Him? Following your loving Savior, falling more deeply in love with Him each day? Do you courageously live your life according to God's Word (1 John 5:3, Psalm 119:9)?

DO YOU DARE TO BELIEVE IN JESUS, who remains the same: yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8, Malachi 3:6)? He still freely forgives all who repent & turn to Him (Titus 2:11-12, Ezekiel 33:11, Acts 2:38, Isaiah 55:6-7, Isaiah 1:18, 1 Timothy 2:8, Romans 10:9 & 13, 2 Peter 3:9, Isaiah 30:18), heals every sickness and every disease, because He is moved with compassion for the sick (Matt. 4:23), makes the lame walk, the blind see, the deaf talk, the mute hear, delivers all who are oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38).

I challenge you today to let nothing stand in your way of serving Jesus with all of your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 says, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart". I challenge you to move as far away from the torment of fiery hell as possible by moving as close to Jesus as you can possibly get. 1 John 5:3 says, "In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome". I can assure you that if you fall in love with God continually and make it your focus to please Him, His commands absolutely are not burdensome. He helps us keep them (1 Corinthians 10:13). Besides, what is easier? To live this life any way you want and burn in hell forever? Or to live this life according to God's Word and live in eternal bliss with Jesus in Heaven forever?

Would you dare to believe? Would you dare to live your life for Jesus out loud, unashamed (Romans 1:16)? Would you dare to believe in His willingness, eagerness, and desire to perform miracles and healing just as He did then? Would you believe on Him to heal your broken heart, your broken life? Would you be courageous enough to have that child like faith He yearns for you to have (Matthew 18:3)? I challenge you to read/re-read Isaiah 53 & let Him minister to you. Let these words about Jesus resonate within your soul, as you read about what He did to save you and heal you.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, let every person who reads this be changed. Impress upon them strongly to live the Gospel and speak your truth with GREAT BOLDNESS, UNASHAMED. Let them feel the awe, wonder, amazement, majesty of Your Presence, Jesus. Let us shamelessly be "doers of Your Word" & not hearers only, because we know according to James 1:22, we are fooling ourselves if we listen to Your Word & do not do what it says. Let us proudly serve you, because you had no shame in taking on the full weight of all our sins & sicknesses, so that we may be free from sin, sickness & every evil (Psalm 91) in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank You, Father, for your infinite love, mercy, and grace. Thank You for all that You are: Savior, Healer, Provider, Prince of Peace, and so much more.
In Jesus Name,
Amen

In God's Infinite Compassion,

Rachel Marie

Healing Checklist: Twelve Imporant Steps to Keep You on Track for Your Healing by Dan & Keiko Downey

From: http://savedhealed.com/healingcheck.htm

Note: I did not write this. A friend shared this article with me. Awesome teaching tool on healing. Wanted to share! :) Enjoy!

1. It is of utmost importance that you make God's Word the final authority in your life. You must become convinced in your heart, knowing clearly from the Scriptures, that healing is a purchased possession for you. Make up your mind that you will not settle for anything less than what He promised for your life through His Word. 1 Corinthians 2:12, Romans 4:20-22, Galatians 3:13

2. Receive your healing by faith in prayer before the Lord. Settle it before the Lord and write down the date when you received it by faith. This is very important. You need to know for certain when you received your healing. By doing so, it will aid in abolishing doubt, fear and unbelief. When the devil attempts to convince you that you are not going to get healed, just put a smile on your face and tell him he's too late, you've already received it by faith and then quote the date to him, then command him to leave! I suggest taking communion when you get ready to receive your healing, as the juice and the bread are symbolic elements of the covenant, His body broken and bruised for our healing and the blood shed for the forgiveness of our sin. You will note in 1 Corinthians 10:16 that Paul refers to communion as the cup of blessing! If you do a word search on the word "blessing" you will find that it means, empowered to succeed! Jesus' redemptive work on the cross purchased the blessing, the empowerment for success and victory for you to experience and enjoy in the here and now!

3. Read through all of the Healing Scriptures on our site and print out (copy/paste) certain selected scriptures that you feel the Holy Spirit has specifically pointed out for you to stand on and claim as your inheritance - commit some to memory as they are your ammunition scriptures to speak out when doubt says otherwise. Hebrews 4:12, Ephesians 6:17, Hebrews 11:1

4. Daily, read out loud the healing scriptures, inserting your name in them where applicable, making them personal to you. Meditate, ponder, and chew on the truth of these Scriptures. Remember the Word of God is His personal love letter to you. Do this three times a day until your faith is built up for healing, then once a day to maintain your faith. Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Build your faith and your doubts will starve to death!

5. Review and claim your Scriptures every time doubt comes to your mind and speak out faith declarations of what the Word says about you and your healing! Do the reverse of Mark 4:15 and steal the devils word immediately and replace it with the Word of God, your precious promises - 2 Peter 1:1-4. Remember the devil is after your faith and he wants you to believe in his ability to defeat the Word of God in your life. Don't fall for that lie! The minute you begin to sense discouragement, catch yourself, recognize what's going on, and immediately speak out the truth of God's Word. Example: "Discouragement you are a lie - because I am a child of God, He loves me, I am the object of His affection. The Bible says no weapon formed against me will prosper. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus I am an overcomer. Health and healing is in me now and is at work bringing forth the action of the Word of Life - the Word of God. I am free from degeneration; I am under the law of regeneration in Christ Jesus!"

6. Speak blessings over your body, and speak in line with the Word of God regarding your situation - don't focus on and speak the problem - focus on and speak the answer. Your words are powerful - see Mark 11:23-24. We do not deny that sickness or disease is present, however we deny it the right to stay! Example: "Sickness/disease, you have no right to stay in my body, 1 Peter 2:24 tells me that by the stripes laid upon Jesus, I was (past tense) healed. I agree with the Word and call my body healed in Jesus Name. I command you to go, you have no place here. Body, I call you blessed in Jesus Name. I call you strong, vibrant and healthy - permeated with and full of the life of God."

7. Make praise and worship an everyday part of your life - rejoicing at the promises and for your life in Christ. He truly deserves our adoration, for He is our everything, and He has given us the victory! 1 Corinthians 15:57, 1 John 5:4. Praise and worship will help you to be victory minded. See our page entitled The Precious Power Of Praise . "The Lord is enthroned amongst the praises of His people" - Psalm 22:3

8. Learn to use the authority, which has been given to you by the Lord, to not only come against the sickness/disease, but to also run off any doubt and oppression that may be harassing you. Lay your hands on yourself and command the sickness to leave, command your body to line up with the Word of God. Tell doubt and unbelief and mental questioning to go in the Name of Jesus! Say, "I am a believer and not a doubter!!! I am a person of faith, I believe the Word." Luke 10:19, Isaiah 54:17, Mark 11:23

9. This is very important!!! Take time each day to get quiet and listen to the Lord - let Him minister to you and encourage you - He is The Comforter! A good time to do this is right after you've spent a little time in personal praise and worship - Psalm 100:4. We need to learn to recognize His voice. He will also illuminate the Scriptures to you and get you back on track if you need it. It is also a wonderful place to receive direction from Him. You need to develop your relationship with Him in this vital way. Christianity is not mere religion, but the right to personal, intimate fellowship with Him. John 16:13, Matthew 4:4

10. Check yourself out before the Lord for any unforgiveness or any "open doors" you may have to the enemy - repent and make changes as quickly as possible. Don't forget about your provision in 1 John 1:9: "that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Remember sin will block the blessings of God. So get rid of all of the blessing blockers!

11. Continue in your normal daily devotions and Bible reading, learning, growing and maturing irrespective of your situation. Proverbs 4:20-22, Joshua 1:8. Take a look at our Scripture Reading Plan it is by far the best I have found. Also, begin to Journal the little gems of truth the Lord reveals to you in your daily devotions. They will serve as an anchor to your soul as you refer back to them when the going gets tough.

12. Finally - Stand, and keep on standing! Dig your feet in and refuse to be moved from the truth of God's Word. Ephesians 6:10-18. Don't waiver because as it says in James 1:6-7, that person will not receive from God. Never let go of the promise. Know the difference between a miracle and a healing. Miracles are instant, and healings are progressive. Important - read Mark 4:26-29, this describes the law of progression that is the norm for the Kingdom of God.

Be careful not to put your healing in first place, we do not want it to become an idol. Keep the Lord and your relationship with Him and your love for Him in first place.

"And let us not grow weary while doing good (doing the Word), for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."
Galatians 6:9

Who Are You Believing: God or Religious Ideas?

Many people today have been deceived by "religious ideas" straight from the devil. I always want to encourage EVERYONE to be sure that all the things they have been taught actually lines up with what the Word of God (the Bible) actually says. Don't take my word for it or anyone else's. You will not be deceived if you know what the Word says. Sadly, these religious ideas have kept many back from living the life God wants them to live. There are many things the devil has robbed Christians of, in disguise, but for now, let's focus on the subject of Healing.

There is a widespread rumor these days that sickness is the will of God, that he is the author of disease, that sickness in His servants bring Him glory. FALSE.

One reason many people believe this lie from the devil is because of Paul's Thorn, which has been falsely interpreted for quite some time now. So, let's look at what the Word of God says about Paul's Thorn. The Bible tells us exactly what Paul's Thorn was. It was a messenger of Satan, not a sickness. Turn in your Bibles, if you will, to 2 Corinthians 12:7, to see for yourself.

"or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, A MESSENGER OF SATAN, to torment me."
- 2 Corinthians 12:7 (NIV)

I am going to quote F. F. Bosworth, author of Christ the Healer, for a minute on this topic:

“ The expression ‘thorn in the flesh’ is not once used in either the Old or New Testament EXCEPT as an illustration. The figure of the thorn in the flesh is not in one single instance used in the Bible as a figure of sickness. Every time, the expression was used in the entire Bible, it is specifically stated what the thorn in the flesh was.”

Numbers 33:55 (The "thorns in their sides" are the inhabitants of Canaan). In Numbers ch. 33, the Lord says to Moses, verse 55: “But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be PRICKS IN YOUR EYES, and THORNS IN YOUR SIDES, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.” (KJV)

The “pricks in the eyes” and “thorns in the sides” of the Israelites were inhabitants of Canaan, not eye trouble or sickness. God was only using an illustration.

Again, in Joshua 23:13, the Lord says of the Canaanites, “they shall be… scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes”. Again, the scourges in their eyes and thorns in their sides are the Canaanites.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, looking back at 2 Cor. 12:7, Paul specifically says that his thorn was a messenger of Satan, sent to buffet him.

Bosworth continues by saying, “Since Paul distinctly states that his “thorn” was the angel of Satan sent to buffet him and make trouble for him wherever he went, why should we say it was something else?”
- End Quote from F. F. Bosworth's "CHRIST THE HEALER"

Another tradition of men on this topic is the myth that "the age of miracles is past" and that Jesus only healed people to reveal who He was. That's NOT what the Scriptures say. Read through the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John). The Bible says that Jesus was MOVED WITH COMPASSION FOR THE SICK and He healed them! Dig into His Word and see :)

"how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him."
Acts 10:38 (NIV)

Sickness is from the devil. This verse tells us that Jesus healed ALL who were under the power of the devil. Let me tell you the best part:

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever
- Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)

I the LORD do not change.
Malachi 3: 6 (NIV)

Jesus has not changed! He changes not! He is the same today as He was when He walked the other. Through the Holy Spirit, we are to be doing the SAME and GREATER WORKS as Jesus did. See John 14:12:

Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
- Jesus in John 14:12 (NIV)

This was not just for the Apostles! Jesus said WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM will do the works He did and even GREATER THINGS

Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
1 John 2:6 (NIV)

Whoever claims to live in Jesus must live as He did! What did Jesus do? He preached, taught, healed the sick, cast out evil spirits.

Jesus also told us what signs follow us who believe in Him in Mark 16:17-18.

He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe:  In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;....they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.
- Mark 16:15-18 (NIV)

There are many other verses and Scriptures that show God's Will to Heal. Jesus was the will of God. Everything He did was what GOD wanted Him to do. The best things I can encourage you to do is to dive deep into the Bible and find out for yourself. I also recommend the book, "CHRIST THE HEALER" by F. F. Bosworth. This book that is based on Scripture has helped many to be healed, once they are enlighted to the truth in God's Word concerning healing.  I was one of them! PRAISE THE LORD! GLORY BE TO GOD! ALL THE GLORY GOES TO GOD, my healer!

"As in the Gospels, so in the Acts, we never read of anyone asking for healing and being denied."
- CHRIST THE HEALER by F. F. Bosworth

Welcome to My New Blog

Hello everyone! I am Rachel Marie. God has called me to ministry. I love Jesus Christ. I love sharing with others what He has done for us, what He has done for me, and what He is willing to do for you.

God's Love is amazing. If you don't know Him, I encourage you to get to know Him through Jesus Christ. Jesus is our only way to God, our only way to God (John 14:6). Christianity is not about a religion, it is about a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with JESUS CHRIST. That's one of my favorite quotes, because it so perfectly depicts what faith in Jesus is really about. We have a Savior, Jesus Christ. We have an Advocate, the Holy Spirit.

God the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit complete the Holy Trinity. 3 parts: One God. The only God.

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
- Romans 5:8 (NIV)

You see, while we were ALL still sinners, God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to the world. He sent Jesus to die for our sins, so that through Jesus, if we accept this FREE GIFT, Jesus will forgive us our sins and heal all our sickness and all disease (1 Peter 2:24). That's how much God loves us! Jesus died on the cross, taking on all our sin and all sickness and disease (Matthew 8:17), so that we can walk in SALVATION and in GOD'S DIVINE HEALTH AND HEALING. God raised Jesus from the dead 3 days later. JESUS LIVES.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."
- John 3:16-18 (NIV)

If you haven't believed in Jesus before, you can start right now, today - wherever you are. You can give your life to Him. Start reading His Word daily. You can begin in the Gospel of John. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. Follow Jesus. Begin to read God's Word and find out how we are supposed to live. Obey God and His Word. Live according to the instructions given you in the Bible. This is the Jesus life: being led by the Holy Spirit and not by the flesh.

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
- Jesus in John 14:6 (NIV)

Find a version of the Holy Bible that you understand. Personally, New International Version (NIV) and New Living Translation (NLT) are a couple of my favorites. I read from different versions. The Bible app is a great tool to see which version you like best, if you would like to compare versions on it to see which version is best for you, before purchasing your own Bible. It has the Bible in many different languages, many different versions-- from beginning to end. I use it frequently. It is a free app you can download on your phone or tablet to read the Bible any time, anywhere.

None of us can truly love unless we know God. GOD IS LOVE (1 John 4:8).

This is real love---not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
- 1 John 4:10 (NLT)

I also want you all to know that Jesus Christ still heals every sickness and every disease. See the following Scriptures for just a few examples:

Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and HEALING EVERY DISEASE and SICKNESS among the people.
- Matt. 4:23 (NIV)
Also, when you read through the Gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John), you will see that the reason Jesus healed ALL who came to Him is because HE WAS MOVED WITH COMPASSION FOR THE SICK and HE HEALED THEM. Don't just take my word for it, read it in the Bible for yourself. Always, always, always make sure that whatever someone tells you is actually Biblical. Read the Scripture for yourself to see the truth. Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). His compassion for the sick has NOT been withdrawn. It is still as present as it ever was. He still desires to heal every sickness and every disease. Sadly, due to lack of belief, He does not do so. HE WILL FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE IT IS HIS WILL. I have my own personal testimony of how He has healed me. In Jesus' hometown, Nazareth, He did not do many miracles their because of their lack of faith (Matthew 13:58). Jesus still requires faith today before He acts.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
- Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)

I the LORD do not change.
- Malachi 3:6

I am the LORD who heals you.
- Exodus 15:26

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
- Act 10:38 (NIV)
** Sickness is an oppression of the devil that Jesus is willing to deliver you from.

He took up our infirmities
and bore our diseases.
- Matthew 8:17 (NIV)

Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the father.
- Jesus in John 14:12 (NIV)

Jesus did not say that healing was for His time on earth only. Jesus did not say that only the disciples could heal. Jesus did not say that the Apostles and those in the early church were the only ones who would do these "SAME AND GREATER WORKS" He mentioned in John 14:12. No, He said "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME"! He desires for us to do the same works He did and greater works through the Holy Spirit.

The Bible also tells us we are to live as Jesus did.

Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
- 1 John 2:6 (NIV)

To find out how Jesus lived and how He wants us to live, read Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. Jesus preached, taught, saved, healed, and delivered! He did not sin. He always relied on God. This is the way He calls us to live. He calls us to be holy, as He is holy.

To learn more on the subject of Divine Healing, stay tuned to my blog posts. Follow me on other social media sites. I highly recommend, "CHRIST THE HEALER" by F. F. Bosworth that is based on what the Bible clearly teaches. You can find it on amazon or ebay. This is what God used to enlighten me on this subject (He sent a friend to give me this book when I needed one). Praise the LORD! I give God all the praise, honor, and glory for what He has done for me.
